This is Darnell Smith, born August 29, 1974 who is currently serving time in Minnesota's Penal System. At the end of a Prison Documentary I saw 2 years ago Darnell proclaimed:
" My Motto is 'Chances make Champions' and Imma Always live by that."
Earlier in the program it was explained that this was Smith's second prison term.
His first came, not long before, when he raped a 12 year old girl.
(First of all, what the hell was he doing out of prisonwhile he was still a young man?
In light of America's PENAL system and LACK of a CORRECTIONS system I'd think they would wait until he was too old and weak to rape ANYone ever again before releasing him, if ever.)
During his first stretch he met and manipulated a young, white, female C.O. Tina Leja.
He asked her to be his "lady" and she said yes.
Some time after he was released a young man named Bobby Dee Holder flirted with her, this bothered Smith. He believed Holder intended to set him up in order to steal back some rims Smith had recently purchased from him. Smith convinced his "lady" to encourage Holder's advances and lure him to an agreed upon location. At this location Darnell shot Holder dead and cut off his penis with a pocket knife he found in Holder's pants pocket. Smith's 'lady' and roomate buried the torso in a swampy area in Wisconsin, they then headed west, turned onto an unpaved road and dumped the rest of Holder's remains in a densely wooded area. Which brings me to the POINT of this article. On April 29 Darnell will have 92 years until his release date April-29-2101.

I don't care enough about her to pay for the information, so I don't know if it's true, but I hope for everyone in the tri-state area that she isn't allowed to be alone with the patients. I wish there was a site where we could tell her how she traumatized the people who knew Bobby. I remember him being so charismatic, and polite. The fact that she appealed her sentence angers me, no remorse. I think she should have received the death penalty. Too bad we don't live in Texas. It's hard to take a camping trip without trying to find his arms and legs, which have never been recovered. Knowing that his mother walked up and down 35 looking for him is so sad. On the "Lockdown" documentary I saw on Netflix it said he is elig for parole in 2031. ?? Why is parole an option for him?? What he did was extremely heinous & in my opinion he should have gotten the death penalty but the state doesn't do death penalty. He had plenty of freedom in the prison to walk around was boxing to stay in shape. Didn't look like punishment to me. And how the hell did the girl only get 12 years?? Something was way wrong with these sentences.

That above post sums up people today oh he was abused , he lived in a bad place had no parents , the reality is that Every person on this earth will it leave this place without hardship and challenges , but people allow this people to say it was that people need to owe up to there stuff and make people accountable , period. DeleteDoes anyone know whether this was "rape" rape or statutory rape which this man was accused of? He was only 18 or 19 when this occurred, perhaps not yet a fully mature man. I am not his apologist, just wondering if it was a violent rape or a case where a 19-year-old guy slept with a girl who was 12 but looked 16. Perhaps it was the latter and that's why he had such a short sentence? But from the way everyone who knew him speaks about him, he was and is a very dangerous person who, for all we know, may have killed others but just was never caught. Though being stupid and boastful (he behaved in a flashy manner, showing people his gun while he was in Glendora, Mississippi on the run), I would think that if he had killed before, somebody would know about it and that would have come out. It's a shame though that he is in general population where he can harm others! I'm not sure how i feel about the death penalty, but at least BEING on death row a violent offender like him would be isolated.

But his time in jail will go by slowly and if he doesn't repent to God for his sin, the punishment awaiting him will be worse than what he did to Bobbie. God says vengeance is his, he shall repay. It won't be a champions walk that he declares to live by because the flames of hell never go out the maggots never stop crawling through the body and the torment is everlasting......
